The Local | Our Story

A family idea, now on Galena Street

A family idea, now on Galena Street

We wanted The Local to be the best place to meet friends, share dreams, and create community. It's a family business, and we're staying right here in Butte.

How it started

The idea started brewing in 2020, and we took the leap in June of 2021. Along the way came a thousand ideas, hundreds of test recipes, four names, two locations, a build and a full renovation.
The first kitchen

The first kitchen

In 2023 my dad agreed to help us build a commercial kitchen for my catering, and my brothers pitched in too. That building was our first brick and mortar, and it holds the last bit of quality time I got with my dad.

A new chapter at I-15

I learned I simply can't be in two places at once, so I leased that first space to Jen, who's opening Grammy Jen's Sweet Treats, Small Eats, and Drinks. We're still in Butte, still investing in the hometown we love.

Now you'll find us in the Cleveland Market building in historic Uptown Butte, with sunny window seats and plenty of room to sit. Thank you, neighbors and friends. Cheers to the next adventure!
